| ( Merlin: Sins of the Father )Have tried to watch the latest White Collar many times before I go to sleep, but keep falling asleep in the middle. I will persevere. Also Jenson joined McLaren today. *sigh* Everyone saw it coming, but I really thought he'd hang around Brawn, which is admittedly now Mercedes, and that does make me feel a bit better about it. But, I do fail to see how joining a team with Lewis is going to help him that much. Yes, perhaps a better car, but a car that's been set up for Lewis's driving style, and in a team which is very much Lewis's team. I hope it works out, Jenson, I really do, but I remain unconvinced. Feeling positive about a McLaren driver is going to feel weird. I haven't done that since David Coulthard drove for them. And uh, I may have a GA ticket to see Muse at Wembley next year. I shouldn't have really, but I did, and I feel pretty unrepentant. If I'm still here (and I definitely plan to be) and I missed out then I'd be kicking myself. Life's too short and the last concert at Wembley they did was too awesome. | |

| Sorry this is slightly late. A lot copied from the last one of these I wrote. ;) -- Dear Yuletide author, First off, you rock! Honestly. If you're going to write any of the pairings/characters I asked for, I will love it. Seriously. But, if you would like some more details, I like slash (both sorts), gen and het. If you'd rather not go the 'shippy route with any of the characters I've asked for, that's cool, really. With a lot (actually, all) of these fandoms it's really about capturing the feel of the canon universe and the relationships between the characters, than about the 'ships. If you are making it 'shippy, I'm not a huge fan of incest, rape, non-con and as far as sexual kinks in general go, I tend towards the vanilla end of the spectrum, but threesomes are awesome. But again, don't feel you have to make it porn-y (writing porn is hard, dude), at all. I am okay with character death and angst. Don't feel you have to make it all rainbows and happy endings if that's not where your muse is directing you. However, saying that I am also a huge sap and love my happy fluffy fic as well. Random other things I like (which might be hard to fit into my requested fandoms): Political intrigue, geekiness, banter, competence, backstory goodness, history and snark. Also, I am absolutely fine with AUs. Love them in fact. ;) Now, to get fandom specfic ( under here )Hope that was helpful, Thank you! <3 Tali/ aworldinside | |

| Being in the UK has its advantages: ( Dr Who: Waters of Mars ) I also have random Bones thoughts after catching up on the last few eps: ( Bones: A Night in the Bones Museum / The Tough Man in the Tender Chicken )Yuletide assignments came out! Eep. I got one of my 'Any' fandoms, but the characters I've got are some of my favourites, so I'm happy to be writing about them. Yuletide writer: If you're looking for a letter, it will be forthcoming, I promise. x The entry time on the Post page now updates with my system clock. Cool :) Now there's new White Collar, and probably Merlin, and I need to catch up on the Daily Show, and talking about Bones has made me feel like watching that a little. My life, so hard. So much TV. | |

| Home from Muse.
There was some insane ticket drama which almost meant I didn't get in but it all ended happily and the concert was pretty amazing. They played "Cave" for the first time ever (well, so Matt said) and "MK Ultra" (sadly at the expense of "Feeling Good" and "Unintended" but I've seen both live before). My standing space could have been better, but with the (incredibly awesome) stage design they had it didn't matter quite as much. And there was bouncy balls, and laser lights, and Dom and Chris's adorable smiles, and Matt playing the hell out of "Unnatural Selection" which sounded as amazing live as I imagined, and overall, it's probably the best Muse concert I've seen, and it wars with the Foo Fighters for best concert ever. Totally, totally worth it.
Sleeping now.
Random: "Guiding Light" is growing on me, and sounds a lot better live.
Random II: And they're playing at Wembley in September next year! Sadly tickets go on sale next week and I a) don't have any money and b) I'm not really in the position to buy a ticket for something 10 months in advance. But, uh, we'll see, after tonight, we'll see. - Tags:muse

| I am employed! Well, for three weeks (admin temping), but money will be entering my bank account! This is awesome! I will be able to pay rent! I am so relieved, and really need to buy my friend who recommended this particular recruiter a drink.
I celebrated this (well actually the initial meeting with the recruiter, but anyway) by buying really good sushi and purchasing a book that may be called Mr Darcy, Vampire. In my defense, it was cheap and I was intrigued, and honestly, the first couple of chapters are actually pretty good.
I've also been watching the (Yuletide nominated, I see) The Thick of It. I've seen it described as Yes Minsiter meets The Office, and that's actually pretty accurate, although thankfully without the British version of The Office's incredibly high level of awkward. Peter Capaldi (Mr Frobisher from Children of Earth) as Malcolm is amazing. He has stealth powers, yells a lot and has an incredibly diverse cursing vocabulary! He's like Toby, if Toby was Scottish and angrier. And the other characters are also pretty awesome. If you like Yes, Minister I really do recommend it. And I need to see In the Loop even more now, as it's written by the same writer, and has Malcolm in it.
Talking of Yuletide, I have copy and pasted all the Yuletide fandoms into a document and am deleting and sorting out what I want to write/request. I haven't given it all that much serious thought outside of 'Yes, must do Yuletide, Christmas is not Christmas without Yuletide' but going through the list I have some ideas. Someone nominated the London Monument Twitter accounts! I want to shake that person's hand. | |

| ( White Collar 1x02: Threads )( Merlin: Beauty and the Beast Part 2 )Yes, I do seem to be watching Merlin regularly. It's on iPlayer, it's too easy! And actually pretty enjoyable. Ridiculous, but enjoyable. Monopoly Crawl was true to my prediction, eventful. Perhaps a little too eventful, sadly. I had a good time for the most part, but at the end at pub 21 (yes, really, and there were still 5 to go) I headed home with my flatmates as we were all a little over it and my feet were killing me. Yesterday, there was the Abu Dahbi Grand Prix and junk food, and not a lot else. It was awesome. Awesome last few laps too. Aw, Jenson. <3 I was happy for Sebastian Vettel though, I like him, he's cute. Also, Jenson continued his habit of being damn touch-y and adorable. In the interview with the BBC guys at the end he had his arm around DC in parts, fist bumped/shook each of their hands and kissed Eddie Jordan on the cheek. And this after kissing Jake Humphrey on the neck after Brazil. I don't tend to slash in F1, but damn, Jenson, you're not helping! I keep thinking of an F1 AU while I'm as into it as I am. Maybe for Gen Kill, but I just don't know if it would work. First Apple Genius appointment today due to my trackpad button being evil. A little excited actually. I wonder if they can do something about the missing J key (long stupid story), it's all still under AppleCare for another year. Also, it is sunny outside! London, dude, I continue to be impressed. I am told this is very unseasonal, but still, I approve. However, it is getting dark at 5pm now. | |

| I was looking through this Times article on the top 50 movies of 2010 (Iron Man 2, yesss) and a couple of things intrigued me: Paul Bettany is playing a fallen angel in Legion. I mean, the movie doesn't look amazing, but I am a sucker for angels (yes, yes, I am tempted by the last season of Supernatural) and Paul Bettany. Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. I watched the trailer and it didn't blow me away, but then I headed over to look at the cast on IMDB and I might just have to go see it. Sean Bean as Zeus, Steve Coogan as Hades, Rosario Dawson as Persephone and Pierce Brosnan as Chiron. However one downside ... Chris Columbus is directing. I was thinking about this while walking home, and I really do have quite a thing for afterlife and apocalypse myths. Hades, Persephone, Chiron, the Elysian Fields, Anubis, Odin, the Four Horsemen ( I love this Dürer woodcut a print of which hung in my high school English department), fallen angels (which is a slightly more tentative link admittedly). I just find them really fascinating. Also, on my walk I picked up my Muse ticket (\o/) and checked out an awesome bookshop phoebesmum and others had mentioned. New books, second hand books, it's very pretty, and named after a Bob Dylan song. In continuing employment drama, I had someone look over my CV who looks at a lot of them, and yeah, I'll be spending some time editing that this afternoon. They made a lot of really good points, and it just makes me wish I'd done this, you know, two months ago. *sigh* However, in happier news I checked out the Tate Britain on Wednesday, and it's a pretty cool museum. Amazing piece in the central hall, and lots and lots of Turner paintings (a whole huge gallery dedicated to him in fact), which I loved. I just love this paintings, he combines atmospheric paintings, with colour and paintings of the Houses of Parliament and of the Napoleonic Wars and you know, could you hit more of my art buttons, sir? Monopoly pub crawl tomorrow (which yes, is exactly what it sounds like, there's even a website). Promises to be eventful. Currently playing with Chrome for Mac. Its a developer version, but it works fairly well and my computer seems to like it better as it doesn't put as much pressure on the fan. However, missing some of my add-ons like my side coloured tabs and Ad Blocker. Oh Ad Blocker, you're awesome. | |

| On the recommendation of what felt like half my flist, I watched White Collar. ( OMG awesome! ) Last week, I saw Metropia at the London Film Festival, which also happened to be the UK premiere. No Alex, (I would have posted something a hell of a lot earlier had there been), but Tarik Saleh was there and did a cool Q&A afterward. He's an interesting guy. He asked to take a photo of the audience, which was cute. The movie itself was really cool. The animation style was unlike any I've seen, and the story line was an interesting dystopian sci-fi. The voice work was also excellent, especially Alex, but I would say that. ;) Interesting to hear his voice alongside his father's. Dr Who repeats on BBC Three for the win. "Journey's End" is on, which is well, insane, but I love it so, and it still makes me cry apparently. ( Random spoilery thought )The trailer for Green Zone (Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass's newest film) looks pretty good (and as Film School Rejects said looks a little like Jason Bourne meets the Iraq War), but uh, it's based on Imperial Life in the Emerald City? Unless the book changes a lot in the last third I haven't read yet, I'm going to assume its a quite a loose adaption. Job search: Ongoing. Bound to step over the Hospitality Line soon. *resigned shrug* Edit: TV is being nice to me. First Dr Who, now Ocean's Eleven. I still love that poker scene an unbelievable amount. | |

| 1. ( Flash Forward: Black Swan )2. The last two episodes of Ugly Betty I've watched have actually made me feel for the characters, quite a lot. Interesting. Also, Eric Mabius is pretty. 3. I'm really enjoying the Dr Who repeats on BBC Three. 'Forest of the Dead' seems much better on a second viewing. Also, David Tennant is awesome, which I say just because, it's been a while since I have. 4. Jenson Buton won the F1 drivers title! \o/ Brazilian GP was insane, but awesome to watch and he drove damn well, and was adorable when he won (kissing the cheek and hugging the BBC reporter, hugging and having his arm around Jake when being interviewed by him, Eddie and DC), although he may regret the singing of 'We Are the Champions' over the radio. I may have spent some time right-click-saving on Monday afternoon, and he may need an icon. And uh, for those keeping track at home, heard about second job today, and uh, not so much. Am not cheerful and outgoing enough for retail, which is okay, sort of true, but have you met some of the people who work in your own store?! Anyway, rant over, feeling okay-ish. Emailing CV for all sorts of things. I've been trying, but I've also been lazy, and that has to pretty much stop now. UK television seems to be full of New Zealand ads tonight. Not helping, TV. Not helping. Going to see Metropia tomorrow as part of the London Film Festival, which has ASkars voice! (No that's not the only reason I'm going. Sort of). | |
